Here’s a weird one: Tensions flared and benches cleared in a game between the Chicago White Sox and Detroit Tigers over White Sox ace Chris Sale’s apparent belief that the Tigers had someone set up in center field to steal signs. First, Sale tipped his cap toward the outfield after striking out Victor Martinez in the third. Then, with one out in the sixth, Sale plunked Martinez in the left shoulder. The two exchanged words as Martinez took his time walking to first, and both team’s benches cleared soon after Sale again motioned out to center field. TV cameras also spotted Sale mimicking binoculars in the dugout. And Tigers infielder Ian Kinsler mocked Sale in turn. -courtesy USA Today Sports
